Lately, I have been very busy at working on an animated film that started out as a very exciting project. However, as sometimes happens with these projects, the direction we were going into wasn’t satisfying my creativity. This left me frustrated and looking for other venues to channel all of this repressed creative energy.
So, a couple of days ago, I decided to start a new short animated film. One day, I was watching some videos about the making of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, one of my favorite animated films. In some of these videos, they were talking about how they started the whole movie with a test scene. This inspired me to start a very small project, since, due to my day job, I don’t have a lot of time to do a longer-form project.
I wrote a one-page story that is very simple it borders on the cliche. It doesn’t sound like I am selling this project really well, but the story is not that important for me for the time being. This project is more of a playground to test some of the ideas I have for later projects.
The project is called “Daydream”. I am going to be working on it in my spare time for the forseeable future. I will post updates about it here on the website. Once I get to the fun stuff, I will start publishing some videos about it on my YouTube channel as well.
Here are some details about the film. It is going to be 3D. I will be using Blender for the production. And, it will be rendered in a nonphotorealistic look. This all the details I have at the moment, but I will keep you posted.
Hopefully, this will be a fun journey and I hope you would join me and enjoy the ride.
